Meet your psychologist.

Zena Dadouch, Ph.D.

She began her academic journey in Berkley, California where she received a bachelors degree in psychology from UC Berkley, and then moved to Illinois where she received a Ph.D. in clinical psychology with an emphasis on trauma at Northern Illinois University.

Motivated by her education and the tragic war in Syria, where she spent her childhood, Dr. Dadouch pursued further training focused on trauma disorders and treatments in children and adolescents. She completed her residency training at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California and her postdoctoral fellowship at the non-profit Austin Child Guidance Center in Austin, Texas.

Dr. Dadouch is highly specialized in assessing and treating trauma outcomes, such as post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), adjustment disorder, mood and anxiety disorders across the lifespan.

She also has extensive training and expertise in treating various difficulties, including depression, anger, early psychosis, relationship difficulties, and more.

In addition, Dr. Dadouch has completed the Gottman Level I training, and offers pre-marital and couples therapy.

Her approach to treatment is collaborative, multifaceted, and evidence-based.

As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Dadouch is extensively trained in conducting psychological assessments. She has completed cognitive, achievement, neuropsychological, personality, and psychodiagnostic assessments for ages 6-64, for a variety of concerns including ADHD, intellectual disability, learning disorders, school refusal, anger management, impulse control, substance use, mood and anxiety disorders, and many others. She is skilled at conducting assessments with children and adults, and always ensures the assessment sessions are the most comfortable for clients while following validity and reliability measures. Child & Adolescent

Dr. Dadouch loves working with children and young adults, and has years of experience and training in treating childhood disorders. Her style with children is fun, collaborative, and engaging. She works hard to ensure a telehealth session is as fun as possible while still being effective.

Dr. Dadouch received excellent training in treating trauma disorders in children, and is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She has treated children with a wide range of traumatic experiences, including sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, foster care, death of a parent, substance abuse, motor-vehicle accidents, and fatal accidents.

A major aspect of working with children and adolescents is engaging caregivers in the process while still respecting the child’s confidentiality. This is typically done by conducting a check-in with the caregiver for a few minutes at the end of each session, to ensure a successful multi-system therapy process.
